UNresolved
Identity

There is no single version of a person, only interpretations that fail to align.

Identity is not inherent, but constructed through perception. Every individual who encounters a person forms their own understanding of them, shaped as much by personal experiences, bias, and belief as by the interaction itself. As a result, a single person exists as a spectrum of conflicting identities ascross different observers. No two interpretations are the same, and none are complete. What one perceives as truth may differ entirely from another, yet each feels valid within its own perspective. Misalignment is not accidental, but inevitable.

This series explores that condition. Each portrait merges multiple facial identities into a single form, overlapping, competing, and unable to fully reconcile. These combinations reflect the accumulation of external perspectives imposed onto an individual, forming a composite that does not resolve into unity. Within this, the individual themselves is not fixed or authoritative, but one interpretation among many. Identity is not self contained, but constructed around them, shaped, projected, and often misaligned with how they understand themselves. Recognition Persists, holding these conflicting versions together even as they begin to fracture.
